I missed most of Saturday Night Light last night, including the opening. In the event that you also missed it, here it is (courtesy of MightyRoaringLion)…

There is probably a lesson here for Senator Hillary Clinton… You can’t take anything for granted, including SNL.

Mrs. Clinton will, without doubt, win the Democratic primaries in West Virginia and Kentucky. Those are her states. Look, if you will, at the demographics…

West Virginia:
Population, 2006 estimate: 1,818,470 (about the size of the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex)
White persons, percent, 2006: 94.9%
Bachelor’s degree or higher, pct of persons age 25+, 2000: 14.8%

Kentucky
Population, 2006 estimate: 4,206,074
White persons, percent, 2006: 90.2%
Bachelor’s degree or higher, pct of persons age 25+, 2000: 17.1%

Face it, there is no possible way Barack Obama is going to have a good showing in either of those states, and no way in Hell that the Democratic nominee (whoever it may be) is going win either of them in November.

If Mrs. Clinton’s plan is to convince the superdelegates that she would be the best nominee based on the results of the West Virginia and Kentucky primaries, best of luck to her. If any of the superdelegates fall for it, best of luck to us.

Saturday Night Live has had a decidedly pro-Hillary stance for the past few weeks. I guess they decided to try to level the playing field last night…

Now that was some funny stuff, that was. Of course the righties won’t approve, but that’s alright because they don’t have a sense of humor anyway.

They would rather talk about how gays are a bigger threat to our country than terrorists.

Saturday Night Live did another of their Clinton/Obama skits last night. In case you somehow missed it (you might have actually found something interesting to watch or a good book to read or you were “making love” or whatever)…

And… (I can’t believe journalism in this country has sunk this low. Wait… yes, I can.) The little girl asleep in Hillary Clinton’s fear-mongering 3 a.m. television ad (which, by the way, aired only in Texas but everybody in the world has now seen) really wants Barack Obama to answer the telephone…

‘Live, From New York,’ It’s Hillary?

NEW YORK (AP) - Hillary Rodham Clinton took a break from the campaign trail to thank “Saturday Night Live” for giving her candidacy a boost - although she failed to get an official endorsement from the show.

Clinton’s campaign has gotten a good deal of mileage out of an “SNL” sketch from a week ago in which reporters fawned over her rival, Barack Obama. Clinton brought up the sketch during last Tuesday’s debate between the two candidates, and the campaign has encouraged supporters and voters to watch it on NBC’s Web site.

This weekend’s episode opened with a similar sketch recreating Tuesday’s debate. It portrayed NBC anchors Brian Williams and Tim Russert asking Clinton, played by Amy Poehler, tough questions while serving softballs to Obama.

Then the real Clinton appeared onscreen with an “editorial response.”

I still do not believe that Barack Obama is quite ready for prime time, but he made a pretty good (though somewhat brief) showing on this past weekend’s edition of Saturday Night Live…
