Trawling for assassins

This stuff went way beyond a joke a long time ago.

If you have spent any time reading the right wing blogs or hanging around with right wingers these days, you know exactly whereof Mr. Schaeffer speaks. If there are any real leaders left in the Republican party (and I have my doubts that there are), it is past time for them to step up and start trying to talk some sense to their people. This is a runaway train that will soon pass the point of no return if it has not already.

UPDATE: Zazzle.com (linked to at the beginning of this post) removed their Psalm 109 merchandise (advocating the assassination of our President) yesterday. As far as I can determine, it remains unavailable. However, CafePress.com, after having removed the offensive material yesterday, has reinstated it today. Needless to say, I highly discourage shopping at CafePress.com. Freedom of expression is one thing. This is another entirely.

Thanks for that. Schaeffer is a good man.

I’m a progressive conservative independent and I’m thoroughly disgusted with the Republican party. Even Reagan would tolerate their crap if he was still alive….

OMG, my skin is crawling at the comments and how extreme these people have gotten. It is indeed scary. I do worry one of these idiots will loose what little control they have. I even held hope that McCain might speak up and say…really people enough is enough. Dam Sarah P and all who think like her. The first time I saw her and heard the babble coming out of her mouth I said she was dangerous.

Wake up America, Wake up Republicans….Someone with the guts stand up please.

I have not agreed with a single thing the President has done since getting into office (except for when he killed that fly, that was sweet) but I would never advocate praying for or wishing physical harm to come upon the man.

Maybe it is time we looked this in the eye for what it is: racism. They can twist and turn their rhetoric any way they choose, but the bottom line is that if the President was a white man, they would not be calling for assassination.

Palin is a rebel rouser with no substance. Still, she has the ability to spew lies and preen for the public. The Republicans are on a slope so slippery, they may take us all down.

The T-shirt references only verse 8 of Psalms 109, not verse 9! It is no more sinister than the Bush countdown clocks that were all over the left wing blogs during the Bush admin. You are chasing phantoms!

    @ da Patriot:
I like the way you think, da. Of course there is no difference at all between looking forward to the end of an incompetent president’s term in office and wishing death upon his successor (and widowhood upon his wife and orphanage upon his children). As for verse 9 following verse 8, you folks gotta learn that if you’re going to go around quoting the Bible you have to be willing to accept everything it says. You can’t just go picking a verse here and a verse there to suit your nefarious purposes. All or nothing, bro! Verse 9 follows verse 8, as do verses 10 through 14.
