The Republicans’ New Leader

There can no longer be any doubt…

benson022109.gif

I do not understand how anybody could possibly give this blowhard any credence whatsoever. He wants our country to fail! That’s you and me, folks. He wants us to fail. How can anyone listen to this idiot and not immediately feel their IQ fall by at least twenty points?

Can you believe he actually said that it is the “Democrat” party (people in America call it the Democratic party) that destroys reputations and characters? This coming from the new leader of the Republican party… a man who makes his living destroying reputations and characters. Amazing, isn’t it?

This is the level to which our Republican party has sunk. Ronnie Reagan would be very, very proud.

UPDATE: There appears to be a feud developing between The Big Fat Drug Addicted Blowhard and The Recently Anointed Token Black Dude. Neiwart has the details. This should be fun.

Any bets on which one comes out on top?

UPDATE #2: Steele apologized. Limbaugh won. Are you surprised?

“I went back at that tape and I realized words that I said weren’t what I was thinking,” Steele said. “It was one of those things where I was thinking I was saying one thing, and it came out differently. What I was trying to say was a lot of people … want to make Rush the scapegoat, the bogeyman, and he’s not.”

There can no longer be any doubt as to who is the real leader of the Republicans.

I just randomly turned the TV on and ended up on CNN when this was going live. But then I couldn’t stop. It was a slow moving train of Idiot and I was sitting there, waiting to get run over.

Totally agree. Idiots like Limblob, incredulous as it is to me why anyone would ever take seriously, are making this country worse. And, as you say, are pushing it toward failure. The solution: ignore ignorance and focus on the positive.

    it takes all kinds! scary!

  4. ndfenceofobamaon 02 Mar 2009 at 08:16

This guy is a real idiot. I have been ripping him and those who support his message for years. It is sad he has such a following. That goes to show you how far we need to come as a country. If Obama fails, we all do.

A drug addict is the voice of the Republican Party…WOW! This has got to be the lunatic fringe wing…vocal, raving, Viagra fueled. People really still listen to this guy?

  6. Heresy Todayon 02 Mar 2009 at 11:01

If you find it acceptable for some people to dislike Rush Limbaugh, would you also say that it is acceptable for others to dislike his so-called “enemy”, Nancy Pelosi?

Don’t get me wrong, Rush is a fool, and if I had to choose the lesser of two evils, I would take Nancy in a second. But what about liberal talk radio like “Air America”, is it ok for folks to dislike it?

Personally, I would rather see a “Coulter & Homes” show over Sean Hannity. I think Sean goes way beyond Rush in the fool dept! LOL

He never lets Holmes get a word in edgewise, where Ann actually lets him finish getting his point across before answering him.

On a side note, have you ever seen the episode of “The Boondocks” with Ann Coulter guest starring in it? It is indeed a huge laugh for liberals at the GOP.

    It’s 1994 all over again…

  8. Chameleon@CoffeeBreakon 02 Mar 2009 at 13:34

I just can’t believe that we’re all paying so much attention to him and his distorted, mis-stated “facts”. Since the man is obviously not -stupid-, he is either completely paranoid, or deliberately twists facts and lies to mislead people. Or both. Peple not only still listen to this guy – people who get to make decisions about our country still listen to this guy. Scary.

  9. Exaggeratoron 02 Mar 2009 at 13:56

And we all know who Rush Limbaugh appeals to: So-called “Fundamentals of the Economy” tending to the poor, the ignorant and the arrogant.

And Another Thing: Some questions which Meneer Limbaugh needs to be asked. (Seriously.)

  10. NanjoDogzon 02 Mar 2009 at 15:12

    Drug addicted fool!

  11. Lenon 02 Mar 2009 at 15:21

@Heresy Today : Who is this Coulter person of whom you speak? I know of no intelligent life form that goes by the name of Ann Coulter.

  12. Jameson 02 Mar 2009 at 16:26

    Wrong again, crazy liberal.
He never said he wants America to fail. He said just the opposite. He wants the Idiot leader of our ex-free country to fail.
    And I agree 100%.
    Obama’s failure = America’s rise

  13. jayon 02 Mar 2009 at 16:39

The only people I know who pay attention to this unelected idiot are the rightwingnuts he caters to and the latte liberals who thinks it is important.

  14. Jasonon 02 Mar 2009 at 17:34

The only drug addict I need to listen to on the radio is Artie Lange. At least he’s funny and doesn’t take himself the slightest bit seriously. Baba Booey

I happened to write an article about this last night. Rush wanting Obama (and his policy, not the country) to fail is just like Pelosi and Reid wanting Bush to fail. The only difference is that Rush is a non-elected individual with a large following and Pelosi and Reid are elected officials and leaders of their sides in Congress. Who is/are the worst person/people?

And no, Steele is not a “token” nor an “Oreo.” Why is it that the Democrats can throw around racial insults like this without the NAACP getting upset?

  16. Heresy Todayon 02 Mar 2009 at 23:49

    @Len :

You haven’t heard of Ann Coulter? She is just like the racist bigots on “Air America”, except she is a conservative. You know? The racist statements made about Piyush “Bobby” Jindal when they were mocking him, and even admitted they were being racist about it? She does the same thing, except she is proud of it. Why i’ll never know, but it sells her books I guess.

As for Rush? That blowhard speaks for no one but himself, and certainly not the GOP. The GOP is having a hard enough time keeping the voters they have now from running off to third parties, let alone use that clown as a mouthpiece. It was Obama’s mouthpiece, Rahm “Dead Fish” Emanuel who is starting this madness in the hopes of taking the public’s attention away from Obama’s failing to rescue the economy.

“The Great Depression Part Deux” will be Obama’s legacy. Too bad, Bob Barr could have stopped the impending crash… :-) Even Ron Paul could have stopped it, but Mc Cain & Obama? No way, that two-party duopoly needs the ruin of America to secure their stranglehold on it.

  17. Lindaon 03 Mar 2009 at 08:19

I don’t give this guy 2 seconds of my attention. So much hate and discontent when the last 8 years was theirs and they cannot understand why the people voted like they did. Oh well….

  18. U.S. Common Senseon 03 Mar 2009 at 14:07

    Linda,

That is why I find people getting bent so out of shape over Limbaugh’s comments when they are no worse than what Democrats were saying under Bush.

  19. Lenon 03 Mar 2009 at 16:50

@U.S. Common Sense : You know, even if that were true it is still a childish excuse (to say the least).

  20. U.S. Common Senseon 04 Mar 2009 at 08:04

No excuses needed. It’s just life (or politics).

  21. - jon 04 Mar 2009 at 08:48

    @U.S. Common Sense :

Your comparison is hardly analogous. Limbaugh and, by extension, the obstructionist Republicans in Congress who refuse to denounce his rhetoric are wishing failure on President Obama. A President who has been in office less than two months and inherited a severe economic crisis. An economic 9/11 if you will.

Former President Bush had unmitigated public and Congressional support for years. In fact, it wasn’t that long ago that anyone who disagreed or who spoke out publicly against the President was labled unpatriotic or worse. Radio stations stopped playing the Dixie Chick’s music because they disagreed with Bush’s illegal war. And even after opinions changed on his presidency, no one was wishing that his policies would fail. For example, many disagreed with the strategy of “the surge” in Iraq, but no one wished that it failed. Because failure meant loss of American life and furhter hardship for the country.

The truth of the matter is that the Republican party is running scared. Limbaugh and his disciples want President Obama’s economic policy to fail. They want the economy to continue its tailspin into another great depression with 25% unemployement rates, many losing their homes to forclosures, retirement accounts disappearing into thin air, and suffering throughout the country. The contrast is dealing with the reality of the moment verus gaining a political advantage for the mid-term elections. Country first indeed.

When President Obama succeeds, it will deal a death blow to the current conservative ideology. It is that and not the economy with which the GOP is truly concerned.

I notice that many of you,not all but many, resort to name calling. Is this typical of those of you on the left. Democrats think of themselves as being more intelligent then the rest of the crowd until it comes to expressing themselves.

  23. Lenon 04 Mar 2009 at 14:43

@conserve : It’s really quite hilarious when y’all try to play the victim. It really is.

  24. People in the Sunon 04 Mar 2009 at 23:42

@conserve : You voted for Bush. We are more intelligent.

  25. U.S. Common Senseon 05 Mar 2009 at 15:49

    J,

Prior to 9/11, it was quite different. Other than Feingold and Kennedy working with the Bush and the Republican party, the only times there were any sign of real bipartisanship came with the funding bills. It wasn’t seen since the Republicans had control over the House and the Senate was split down the middle. House democrats played the role of obstructionist at the start just as the Republicans are doing now, it has been that way for decades.

And yes, you can want a President and his policy to fail while not wanting the country to fail. Achieving both is difficult, but the desires are mutually exclusive. Does that mean they want to see 25% unemployment? Of course not. They want to see the economy recover just as the Democrats do. They just have different views on how to achieve it. That is like saying the Democrats wanted Iraq to fail to get back at Bush, when in fact they just had a different view on how to achieve a stable government and bring the troops home. (And that is “the truth of the matter.”)

  26. daPatrioton 05 Mar 2009 at 16:56

Limbaugh said, “I want our country to succeed” and you hear “I want our country to fail”. Liberalism is trully a mental disorder.
