Tonight’s the night

Posted by Len on Wednesday, October 15th, 2008 at 2:22 pm CT in Democrats, Election 2008, Politics, Republicans

Not really. But it is the night that the third and final presidential debate of the 2008 election will be held. Barack Obama and Johnny McCain will be sitting at a table with only Bob Schieffer separating them. There is a lot of speculation about what may happen during the debate. McCain’s advisers and supporters are getting desperate and they have been trying to convince Johnny that he needs to attack viciously tonight.

If I were forced to speculate on what may happen during the debate, it would be this: not much. I think we’re going to see and hear just about what we saw and heard in the two previous debates. Senator McCain will continue his condescending ways toward (and utter contempt for) Senator Obama and will refuse to address him directly or even look at him, which will be difficult considering they will be sitting at the same table about four feet apart from one another. Senator Obama will maintain his cool, present his opinions and policies in a measured and factual manner and act presidential as he has throughout this campaign. Senator McCain will try to tailor his message to whatever he thinks will get him elected.

Not many minds will be changed tonight. Still, though, you probably should tune in. It all starts at 9:00 Eastern, 8:00 Central, and can be seen on all the major broadcast networks (except maybe FOX, which will probably be showing a baseball game).

And finally… the McCain debate prep video, which somehow was leaked to the media today. (Music requested specifically for Johnny by Cindy.)

Sad to say but far too many people believe such sensational rumors. What a shame. Nice cartoon though, once you realize it’s not actually anti-Obama.

Um… he is the child of an African Muslim and a 18 yo white girl. He did in fact spend several of his youth years in a primarily Muslim country(No I am not saying he is Muslin). He did in fact attend an elite Hawaiian school (I know 4 people who went there, nice digs) and he himself admitted he did drugs. What did he say…something like,”The point IS to inhale.” He did in fact attend to primarily leftist elitist east coast colleges.

His friends from his youth(Davis) through adulthood (Ayers/Pfleger/Wright/Rezko etc etc etc.) all tend to be either anti-Ameri-KKK-an or communist/socialist or Marxist.

He shares zero of my values and is nothing but an empty suit with a glib hand up his back playing his as the puppeteer.

Yeah, the cartoon is pretty accurate.

That you somehow think it’s INACCURATE in some way is sad. Do me afavor, give me one thing in the cartoon that is false.

@Jenn : Wow. Unbelievable, but exactly what I would expect from you. Thanks for not disappointing.

Like I told Steve in reply to one of his comments on an earlier entry… y’all keep those silly attacks coming. They seem to be working wonders.

Jenn is the chick you wind up hiding from after waking up and realizing you must have been REALLY blitzed the night before. But you know, no matter how hard you try, you just keep running into her…

@Jenn: While most of the information in this comic does come from fact the spin that is put on it makes it negative. Example: Second panel says spent his childhood in a muslim country and has a picture of a very shady looking figure with a death to america sign behind him, implying that he is a terrorist. In actuality the majority of muslims are indeed not terrorist. And even if he did see terrorists, that doesnt make Obama one. It is a distortion of the truth, and that is what makes it bad. At least to me.

@Len: for the first couple of seconds in that video I thought it was real!!! Oh that would have been even funnier.
