@Faye Jordan : Hello, Faye. If you have honestly read Senator Obama’s tax plan and you disagree with it, that’s fine. If you are just listening to what the McCain campaign and a bunch of right wing weblogs are telling you, then I’d encourage you to do a bit of the work on your own.

Basically, Barack Obama and Joe Biden want to put the tax rates for the richest 1% of Americans back where they were when Bill Clinton was president — when, by the way, they were lower than when Ronald Reagan was president. I have not heard nor read where either Barack Obama or Joe Biden want to “give” anything to anyone. If (and if you read the plan you’d know this) you are making less than $250,000 you will not see your taxes go up one dime. If you are making less than $200,000 you will see your taxes go down.

And I’m with you, by the way… I don’t believe in hand outs either.

I am appalled at the number of people who think they should be given everything like education, houses, cars, health insurance, etc. I worked full time while I attended college and paid for my entire tuition. Today, my husband and I have two children in college that are paying their way through also. My son is working full time and paying tuition, rent, gas, etc. I’m sorry, but if we can do this so can others. We are by no means considered high income, but I believe Obama will be taxing us to share the wealth. If he and Biden are so interested in sharing the wealth then why aren’t they sharing their wealth with charity. It sounds like they want to share the wealth with tax payer money, but not their own. From what I understand, Biden has given as little as $125 dollars in charity in an entire year. I believe in charity, but I am in not a believer in hand outs. I believe I should have a choice in where and when I want to share my wealth.

I’m very skeptical, maybe coming from too much reality TV… I just don’t trust America to make the right decision!!

Every time they poll the undecided voters after the debates the majority says that they would vote for McCain if they had to right now… How is Obama so far ahead and yet people won’t vote for him? I just don’t get it and I’m worried, really worried about that information!!

@The BoBo: Again, we will agree to disagree. The information is there if you care to look for it. I do not see, as you seem to, where the mainstream media has been any tougher on Sarah Palin than it has been on Barack Obama. We have two years of coverage on Senator Obama; we have six weeks of coverage on Mrs. Palin.

For the record, I have read Senator Obama’s books (and most, though admittedly not all, of his speeches). I have also read Senator McCain’s book. I have not read Mrs. Palin’s.

You want to believe that Barack Obama is a socialist (or marxist, you can’t seen to make up your mind) and that he will somehow single-handedly turn the United States into a socialist society. I do not believe that. First, I don’t believe he wants to to that; second, I don’t believe he could do that even if he wanted.

You believe Senator Obama and the Democrats are lying; I believe Senator McCain and the Republicans are lying. Neither of us, obviously, is going to convince the other.

I’m not making any excuses for Senator Obama. He doesn’t need any excuses, and, if he did, he is perfectly capable of making them for himself.

By the way, you have good taste in in-laws!

Len – I don’t hate Democrats – my in-laws are Dems! I don’t hate you either. In fact, despite our political differences – you appear to me to be quite a decent fellow. I don’t hate Obama either. However, I STRONGLY oppose everything he stands for.

It seems you guys are just carrying his water for him and making excuses for him. He has spent 25 years associating with the most radical far-left thinking people in our country. Sutherland’s differential association theory says that people associate with those who think alike. His associations tell you about his character. He has completely flipped his positions once he became the presumptive nominee.

Len – you know as well as I that there is a lot of factual information that can be found out there for those who know where to look. The problem is that the MSM won’t report on Obama’s associations. They swarmed on Alaska as soon as Palin was announced as the VP running mate. Not one reporter from any major news paper or any major main stream media outlet has done any investigative reporting on Obama – but – there is smear about Palin EVERY day in the MSM.

The regular non-political junkies out there get most of their news from the newspapers and the TV news. They haven’t heard the same facts that we have regarding Obama. Regarding my quote regarding him being a self-professed socialist and marxist – perhaps you should read his books and read the transcripts from his speeches before ACORN. In his own words he purposely associated with “other” socialist like minded individuals in college and he purposely associated with marxist professors.

From what I’m gathering from you is that you want this great country to move to a socialist state. If Obama gets in and there is anti-filibuster Dem majority in Congress – with Reid and Pelosi at the helms there – we will indeed move towards socialism – which is completely opposite of the principles this country was founded on.

Besides – if Obama does win – I’m absolutely 100% sure it will be for one term once the people realize they were lied to by him and the media.

The man talks a good game – but – he can’t be trusted – his history and his voting record proves it.

People like The BoBo are why I don’t have champagne chilling yet.
I just keep having flashbacks to my candidate winning the popular election, but then political power movers behind the scenes threw those votes away and seated their own candidate.
I’m trying hard not to be overly pessimistic, but a lead in the polls doesn’t fill me with any sense of security right now.

Now go see a doctor. I think you have a rather extreme case of Palinitis. You know, I thought some people on the left hated George Bush, but what they felt for Mr. Bush was nothing compared to the blind and vicious hatred you (and some of your fellow right wingers) feel for Barack Obama (and Democrats in general).

God help us all if this guy gets in office.

This God of whom you speak got us through eight years of George W. Bush. I’m sure eight years of Obama will be a breeze.

This is wonderful news! To counter the “Bradley” effect many have said that Obama needs at least this much of a lead to pretty much ensure a victory…I’m so excited…(humming The Pointer Sisters smash hit in my head!!!!)
