Remarkable resemblance

Posted by Len on Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 at 8:01 pm CT in Election 2008, Humor, Politics, Republicans

It’s been kind of a slow news day. The Republicans and the McCainiacs are still playing with their… tire gauges. Other than that, not a whole lot going on.

Meanwhile, Johnny McCain just gets older and older…

Hey… He’s the one who said we ought to have a little fun in this campaign! Plus, he’s old.

And did I mention he’s black? Oh..wait…sorry..that’s your guy! ;)

  2. Lenon 07 Aug 2008 at 09:08

@The BoBo : Yes, I believe you have. Numerous times. However, I do not believe being black will have an effect on how one performs the job. There is a chance that being old will. See the difference? I hope you do. Many, many professions in which performance is critical have mandatory retirement ages for being old. I cannot think of one that forces retirement for being black.

Plus, he’s not “my” guy. He should be “our” guy. Come November, he will be.

    Left,
What you mean slow? Have you noticed there is a movement afoot? Okay go read my blog, someone has to tell you what is going on.

Also the Hillraisers seem to be really ramping up. I may even watch part of your convention, I need some laughter.

  4. Lenon 07 Aug 2008 at 10:58

    @Kathy@brazoscowgirl :

    What you mean slow?

I don’t know. What do I mean? Where did I mention slow?

someone has to tell you what is going on

Please do. I’ve been kind of wondering my whole life. I’m sure you’re the one who can fill me in.

I may even watch part of your convention

Couldn’t hurt you. A little exposure to other ideas and other opinions has never, to my knowledge, hurt anybody.

    I need some laughter

What? Johnny McCain and the McCainiacs are not providing you with enough? :)

(Oh, for whatever it’s worth, my name is Len, not Left.)

  5. Kathy@brazoscowgirlon 07 Aug 2008 at 11:04

Len you crack me up! If only I could change your mind! My fantasy life is far more interesting than my real life. Trying to sell blood for gas, don’t laugh it may happen!

Remember I have voted Democratic, and lived long enough to regret it. My wish for you is you live a very long healthy life.

  6. brettbumon 07 Aug 2008 at 11:27

I don’t know, I think John McCain looks a lot younger than the guy in the picture to his right. . .

  7. Lenon 07 Aug 2008 at 11:57

    @Kathy@brazoscowgirl :

    Remember I have voted Democratic

Then you’re one up on me. I have never voted Republican. ;)

My wish for you is you live a very long healthy life.

    Ditto, my friend.

  8. JollyRogeron 07 Aug 2008 at 12:35

Kathy, we’re working to get you that long life you want, and we may even fix it so you can go to a doctor when you need to. THAT’LL be a change, won’t it?

Bobo, methinks that you should probably take the white sheet off when posting, as I am guessing it keeps getting in the way of your fingers when you try to type. You can always put it back on before your “social club” meetings. I am curious about something though; with the price of gas being what it is these days, have you switched to soaking your crosses in ethanol or biodiesel?

  9. Jennon 07 Aug 2008 at 13:57

Crazy Len jokes are for funny people.

    :P

  10. Lenon 07 Aug 2008 at 14:30

@brettbum : You made my day. Thanks!

  11. Jameson 07 Aug 2008 at 14:38

    Hey Len,
This is nothing new. I’ve seen lot’s of pics of Barack Hussien Obama next to pics of John McCain. This is election season! Every time you open a paper or turn on the tv you see pics of the two of them together like you’ve posted!
    OH! Wait a minute! I see what you’ve done…
That pic of Barack is from a few years ago, while the pic of McCain is more recent.

  12. Lenon 07 Aug 2008 at 14:39

@James : Not even close. Thanks for playing, though!

  13. The BoBoon 08 Aug 2008 at 00:33

Man..you guys are so lame…I was only quoting Obama himself with that comment! Sheesh! Or have you forgotten that he keeps dropping the race card himself.

JollyRoger – you’re an idiot for even making that assumption. You can go back to worshipping at the Obama Kool-aid fountain now. Forget the fact that he hates you white people to begin with and is just using you to get in the white house to continue his Black Liberation Theology policies of african-americans first. Or..have you completely dismissed his own words and writings? “…greed fuels the white man’s needs” He’s talking about you. Or that his own grandmother is “the typical white person” Is this you? It sure isn’t me! Do you cower and get scared every time a black person walks in the room?

  14. Jameson 08 Aug 2008 at 07:55

    You tell ‘em, BoBo.
Democrats are specialists when it comes to using the race card. Barack Hussien Obama is the biggest racist to ever run for public office and when anyone brings that up, the dems turn right around and call US racists. How can they refute the fact when they hear him say things like, “White Man’s greed runs a world in need”, and when he sits in a pew listening to spew for 20 years.

  15. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 09:39

@James: If you’re going to post a quote like that, you probably should source it. Give us the link to where Sen. Obama actually said that. Since you placed it in quotes, I would expect the source to show those exact words in that exact order. Please make it a reputable source.

  16. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 09:44

@The BoBo: The same goes for you as for James. If you’re going to quote people, source your quotes. Show me where Sen. Obama exhorts us to not forget that he’s black. Show me where he says he hates white people and that he just wants to get into the White House to continue his “Black Liberation Theology.”

No, I do not cower and get scared every time a black person walks in the room. It appears, though, that maybe you do. The thought of a black president sends you into hysterics, doesn’t it? It’s really better to face your fears now and put them past you or else you’re going to have a very long eight years ahead of you.

  17. Jameson 08 Aug 2008 at 09:51

Len- I’ll do you one better! You want a source? I’ll give you a link where you can hear it from your man himself, in his own words, straight out of his racist mouth…

  18. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 10:18

@James: Nice. 33 seconds of audio. I couldn’t be sure, but it sounded like he was talking about apartheid in Port au Prince. Is apartheid something you agree with, James?

  19. Jameson 08 Aug 2008 at 10:26

You liberals are so cute! Every time you get busted you have to throw something out of left field to try to cover your guilt. Apartheid! That’s a good one, I’ll give you that.
Let’s get back to the subject at hand, though…
Barack Hussein is a racist, no way around it. I’ve proven it to you in other posts (you didn’t come back with apartheid that time, though) and I’ll keep proving it as long as you keep asking.
And what is even FUNNIER than any of this is the fact that you just did exactly what I was talking about a few comments earlier! Hehehe. Check it! I said every time libs get caught in racism you turn around and call us racist! I love it! I can tell the future!

  20. The BoBoon 08 Aug 2008 at 12:18

Len – you know I do like you..but…I find it hard to believe that you have not heard any of this.

“White man’s greed runs the world in need” comes directly out of his book The Audacity of Hope. This is the name of the very first sermon from Pastor Wright that Obama heard. This is the sermon that convinced Obama to join that racist church. If you really want me to source it, just let me know which of the 273,000 links on google you want.

Okay – regarding Black Liberation Theology – this is based on interpretation and analysis of his positions as both an Illinois Senator and now as a DC Senator. First – surely you must know that Rev Wright’s church ONLY preaches Black Liberation Theology – if you didn’t know that – then here is a link to that church’s website – http://www.tucc.org/talking_points.htm

If you want to know who Dr. James Cone is – this is a guy who called for all blacks to rise up and kill white people. This is the guy who Rev Wright bases his preaching on…it says so in that above link off the church’s website.

    Think I’m kidding? Here’s a direct quote:

James Cone, quoted in William R Jones, “Divine Racism: The Unacknowledged Threshold Issue for Black Theology”, in African-American Religious Thought: An Anthology, ed Cornel West and Eddie Glaube, Westminster John Knox Press, 2003, pp. 850, 856.

Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.

All of his votes and sponsored bills while in Illinois are public record. You will find that he voted against any bill that he interpreted as unfair on black people – including a three-strike bill for criminals. He said it unfairly affected black people. Well, gee – I think it fairly affects black people if it were primarily black people committing those crimes..don’t you? The bill was color-blind – Obama was not. There are many more instances like this…but…I’m sure you can do your own homework and actually look for it yourself if you’re really interested in learning about who this guy really is.

Regarding his quote about “oh, and did I mention he’s black?” – which of the 12,000,000 links to do you want? I’ll give you the one from Reuters as I know you guys on the left don’t like anything that would even appear to come from Fox! http://www.reuters.com/article/politicsNews/idUSN2040982720080620

Essentially, he’s playing the race card trying to say that Republicans are going to play the race card and use fear. We don’t need to use fear against Obama. We just need to use facts and his own words. You can’t honestly say that Obama sat in a church for 20 years listening to this and didn’t believe any of it. You can’t honestly say that for 20 years of listening to it, it has not molded and shaped his views.

It just seems to me like all you guys on the left are supporting Obama with blinders on. The facts are there and are available..but..you ignore them or pretend like you didn’t hear/see them…or try to say it’s Republicans and Conservatives just bashing him because he’s black. No – it’s all of us (Dems and Repubs) who have done our homework and are just presenting the facts – mostly in his own words and his own associations and his own voting records – and – him and him alone. We don’t need to use race to say he’s not fit to lead this country. Race has never been an issue for me. I would vote Condi, Cosby, or Powell in in a heartbeat. I don’t agree with his socialist policies.

You guys need to get off this kick that Republicans and Conservatives are racists when in fact your party has the ex KKK Grand Wizards, Kleagles, and general members as senators. (BTW – that would be Sens Byrd, Dukes, Hugo Black, Earle Mayfield, Tom Metzger, etc etc) do I need to source this as well from the 100’s of millions of links?

  21. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 12:54

@James : I apologize, James. I am just not filled with the hatred that consumes you. I never will be. If that’s what you’re looking for or trying to goad me into, you’re just going to have to look elsewhere.

Listen again to that audio clip to which you linked. You know, that one that was supposed to prove to me that Barack Obama (or Barack Hussein, as you prefer to call him) hates white people. Clearly he was talking about apartheid in Port au Prince. If that is what you are basing your hatred of the man on, then I wish you luck (and an education).

Sorry, you win no prizes today. Bye-bye.

P.S. My name is Len, not “You Liberals.” Pleased to meet you.

  22. Jameson 08 Aug 2008 at 13:43

Me? …Hate? …You must have misinterpreted something I wrote. I don’t hate anyone. I don’t even hate Barack Hussein Obama. I don’t think he is the best choice for America, and will give my opinion every chance I get, but I don’t hate him. I don’t hate you, either, Len. Even though you call me stupid and full of hate. I’ve been called worse. I (believe it or not) truly enjoy our little ‘discussions’. That’s why I keep coming back for more!
Now, I know how liberals love to toss around the word ‘hate’, especially when they are loosing arguments, so I’m not offended at your own hateful comments.
But, as I said earlier, let’s get back to the topic at hand, Barack’s racism…
The audio clip is not proof in itself that he’s a racist, but it is a tiny piece of the huge chunk of proof that he is racist. He sat and listened to Wright for 20 years without leaving, asked Wright for advice and defended Wright’s racist opinions. That’s actually enough proof of racism, right there. Not to mention how he talked about his own grandmother…I mean, come on, his own grandmother! So, it can be argued that not only is he a racist, but he’s a jerk as well.

  23. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 14:10

@James and The BoBo: My final word on this… neither I nor Senator Obama are the ones throwing the word “racist” around. We just aren’t. That was not the topic of this post and I did not introduce it into the comments attached to this post. I do not believe that Barack Obama is a racist. You, apparently, do. I do not agree with the bases of your arguments and it is highly doubtful that you will convince me to do so. That being said, I thank you both for the discussion and hope you have a nice weekend. It has been fun being attacked by the both of you.

  24. The BoBoon 08 Aug 2008 at 15:13

Len – no – you are correct – the initial topic of discussion was not race. It started from a pithy comment on my behalf just simply quoting something that Obama said. No intention of dragging race in to this. Jolly Roger actually brought race in to this discussion by calling me a racist – which is the furthest from the truth.

I know you don’t think Obama is a racist nor agree with the bases of the arguments because you don’t want to see the evidence that was clearly presented and sourced as you requested. Like I said, you, along with many others, are following with blinders on.

I never figured I could convince you to change your opinion…it’s just fun debating the issues with ya. Sorry that you think they are attacks.

    See ya

  25. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 15:48

@The BoBo : Wow, you sure nailed me, didn’t you? Reckon now I’ll have to take my blinders off and start supporting that adulterous, lying, cantankerous, flip-flopping old fart Johnny McCain. (Like that’s going to happen.)

  26. The BoBoon 08 Aug 2008 at 16:23

Why would I want you to support McCain? I don’t even support McCain! LOL! I’m just havin fun pointing out all of Obama’s issues…and…you may recall, I do the same to McCain as well on my own blog! It’s just not as fun as knockin down Obama!

  27. Lenon 08 Aug 2008 at 17:24

@The BoBo : One of two people is going to be the next President of the United States. It is either going to be Barack Obama or John McCain. That’s reality. While Barack Obama is not perfect, I believe he would be much better at the job than John McCain. I do not trust John McCain. He elicits from me about the same reaction that George W. Bush does, and that ain’t good.

So you go have your fun knocking down both candidates. I at least applaud your good sense in not supporting Johnny McCain. ;)
