McCain’s bad week
Johnny McCain is not having the best of weeks (or months or years, for that matter) is he?
McCain says he’d prefer to speak in Germany as president
(CNN) — Sen. John McCain sharpened his attacks against Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday, saying he’d rather give a speech in Germany as president than as a presidential candidate.
Obama was in Berlin for the latest leg of an international trip intended to bolster his foreign policy credentials at home and set out his vision for a new era of transatlantic cooperation.
McCain was campaigning Thursday in Ohio, focusing on health care.
Speaking to reporters outside Schmidt’s Restaurant and Banquet Haus, a German eatery in Columbus, Ohio, McCain responded to Obama’s Berlin speech, which attracted large crowds at the Victory Column.
“Well, I’d love to give a speech in Germany … a political speech or a speech that maybe the German people would be interested in,” he said. “But I would much prefer to do it as president of the United States rather than as a candidate for the office of the presidency.”
Sounds like the old geezer has a case of the sour grapes, doesn’t it? Buck up, Johnny, it’s not going to get any better.
UPDATE: You know, I knew Johnny McCain reminded me of someone, but I could never quite put my finger on who it was. It took the above cartoon to bring it on home…

It isn’t even August. The parties have not even held their national conventions. And still, the McCain campaign has hit rock bottom. Is it really too late for the Republicans to pick someone else?

“a political speech or a speech that maybe the German people would be interested in”
Yep, the common person will never be interested in what McBush has to say…
“Johnny McCain is not having the best of weeks (or months or years, for that matter) is he?”
I would say just the opposite, he was able to get media coverage from speculation about his VP choice without even using the VP card. Have you seen the most recent polls? Its Obama who has lost ground not McCain. Gallup Poll
@lawofpolitics: So, who exactly was his VP choice? I guess I somehow missed the announcement. Come on, law, you know all that was just a desperate play for attention, don’t you? Yep, old Johnny is really gaining in the polls and all. He’s moving on up.
Thanks for the smile, and thanks for dropping by.
“speculation about his VP choice” I know he didn’t announce his VP, but he has said he will before the Olympics. It probably was a play to get media coverage, but it worked. He has to do everything he can to get the media to turn his way, because the media is so basis towards the left or at least Obama. Can you deny that?
@lawofpolitics :
Nope. Not even going to try. The media, just like us, are citizens. They are free to decide who they believe will be the best leader of our country. Remember, it’s the Republicans who so vehemently oppose the so-called “Fairness Doctrine.” You want 50/50 coverage? Enact the Fairness Doctrine. Until then, all I can say is… grin and bear it, my friend.
Oh, and that thing you said about the polls? Here’s Micheal Crowley:
