Johnny’s quote of the day

Posted by Len on Tuesday at 10:32 pm in Election 2008, Politics, Republicans

“I think the time has come for Sen. Obama to not just repudiate Gen. Clark, but to cut him loose.”Johnny McCain, July 1, 2008

Yes, I rather imagine that John McCain is wishing that Barack Obama would “cut General Wesley Clark loose.” It must be terribly embarrassing, not to mention inconvenient, to have somebody on the other side who actually has some military experience and has demonstrated some good judgment in his lifetime.

You really can’t blame Johnny and his surrogates for wishing that General Clark would just go away.

Somehow, I don’t think it’s going be quite that easy…

WASHINGTON (AP) - Retired Gen. Wesley Clark rejected suggestions he apologize Tuesday for saying John McCain’s medal-winning military service does not qualify him for the White House. Elaborating, Clark said a president must have judgment, not merely courage and character.

Courage? Perhaps. (40 years ago.) Character? Debatable.

P.S. It really is fun to watch Johnny McCain and the Republicans crying in their milk like this, isn’t it? If they can’t stand up to Wes Clark (who, by the way, is on our side), how the hell can we expect them to stand up to al Quaeda and all the other bad guys of the world?

You do know that Wes Clark was fired from his last command, don’t you?

He spun it as an early retirement, but he was asked to retire early in lieu of being relived of his NATO command.

Instapundit covered this back in 2004 when Clark was running for president.

I see that Chris is trotting out the same old tired Chimpleton argument they trotted out in 2004, when Clark was running for President and they had to do something to dent him, since he looked pretty good when placed alongside the Coward of Crawford.

These Chimpleton scum sure love to denigrate honorabble military people (like Duckworth, Cleland, Kerry, and Clark) when they need to protect their monkey coward. Just go back and see what their wet dream, Ann C**tler, had to say about Vietnam vets. But…. you better not DARE suggest anything about their new zombie hero!

We have seen the entire substance of their 2008 campaign already. Scream like tortured babies if anyone says anything about their boy, with the willing connivance of the MSM. It doesn’t seem to me like they have anything to offer us as a POSITIVE for their boy, so all they can do is cry. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if they had something positive to say about a McCavein Presidency?

Clark was ineloquent to be sure, but he had a legitimate point. It’s funny how the wingtards insist that McCavein’s military record is off limits though, while everyone else is eligible for the swift-boat treatment. Even people like Chuck Hagel, who is also an honorable military man.

I personally would rather forget about making reference to Johnny’s military service, and stick to issues like the constant payoffs the guy has collected for nearly 30 years now.

@Chris : Now you’re referencing Perfessor Reynolds? Really, Chris, you need to get out more. ;)

I think McCain would or will just continue all of the failed policies of the Bush administration. He has supported almost all of those policies with perhaps the trendy “green” global warming initiatives that he says he supports now He has nothing new to offer, just more of the same,
