George’s new neighbor
I haven’t written much about Cindy Sheehan because I have not yet completely made up my mind about her. In a way, I admire what she is trying to do. Her persistance is admirable. If I ever personally meet her, I’m sure I’d find her to be a congenial and intelligent person. I’m just not too sure about the way she and her followers go about doing some of the things they do. I also wonder why she is so insistent upon meeting with Mr. Bush again. She’s already met with him once. What more do they have to talk about?
Anyway… she’s buying up some land in Crawford…
Cindy Sheehan buys land near Bush’s ranch
CRAWFORD, Texas – War protester Cindy Sheehan has purchased a 5-acre plot in Crawford with some of the insurance money she received after her son was killed in Iraq.
The group she helps lead, Gold Star Families for Peace, says on its Web site that it will return next month to protest the war in Iraq in the small town near Waco where President Bush has a ranch. Like last year, Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq in 2004, will again demand to meet with the president.
“We decided to buy property in Crawford to use until George’s resignation or impeachment, which we all hope is soon for the sake of the world,†Sheehan said in a newsletter set to be sent to supporters Thursday. “I can’t think of a better way to use Casey’s insurance money than for peace, and I am sure that Casey approves.â€

Anyway, good luck, Cindy. Don’t let the bastards get you down.
Update: The rabid righties are now circulating the story that Cindy passed herself off as a victim of Hurricane Katrina in order to get the landowner in Crawford to sell to her. Wow, just wow. It’s amazing the depths some people will sink to (and I’m not talking about Cindy Sheehan).
Update II: The landowner knew full well to whom he was selling the land. The rabid righties are again trying to make something where there is nothing. Typical.
Longtime Crawford resident Bobby D. Ramsey sold a little more than five acres to Gerald T. Fonseca, a New Orleans native who said he was displaced by Hurricane Katrina last fall. Fonseca was in Crawford along with hundreds of other war protesters when the hurricane destroyed his home Aug. 29.
Fonseca, who identifies himself as a Vietnam veteran and a member of Veterans for Peace, had been living more recently in Eagle Rock, Mo., with relatives. He has been in Crawford the past four weeks, staying at the Crawford Peace House…
In September, Fonseca said, ownership of the land will be transferred to Sheehan…
He said the $52,500 used to pay for the property — a spread of rustic, wooded prairie with no houses — came from Sheehan and her Gold Star Families for Peace.
Fonseca said he acted as “an agent†for Sheehan, negotiating the purchase and closing the deal with Ramsey.
One Response to “George’s new neighbor”

Her persistance isn’t admirable, she is preying on peoples sympathy for the loss of her son that she didn’t give to much thought to before he died. They were estranged because she is a deranged woman. She is cozying up to anyone that will bring the most attention to her cause( the embarrassment of President Bush) that makes her a very sad woman. Now she is stooping to purchasing land just so she can bring more attention to herself by attempting to further embarrass the President. This woman is deranged and need to get medical help.
By the way, nice changes to your blog.
