Poll: Most think Bush is failing second term

WASHINGTON (CNN) — A majority of Americans are more likely to vote for a candidate in November’s congressional elections who opposes President Bush, and 58 percent consider his second term a failure so far, according to a poll released Thursday.

Fewer people consider Bush to be honest and trustworthy now than did a year ago, and 53 percent said they believe his administration deliberately misled the public about Iraq’s purported weapons program before the U.S. invasion in 2003, the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll found…

Fifty-eight percent of those polled said Bush’s second term has been a failure so far, while 38 percent said they consider it a success. A smaller number — 52 percent — consider his entire presidency a failure to date, with 46 percent calling it successful.

It is good to be in the majority!

    Majority ?
Wouldn’t know it from the last few elections.

Elections? I guess you could call them that if you want.

Take the last two presidential elections, for example. One decided in Florida, where the Secretary of State and the Chairman of the Bush/Cheney Campaign was Katherine Harris, and the next decided in Ohio, where the Secretary of State and the Chairman of the Bush/Cheney Campaign was Kenneth Blackwell.

Yep, I guess you can call them elections if you want. But you have a sorry case if you have to make it on that.

I guess I won’t vote for Bush in the next election then (he-he). I just love the way you Dems live in the past. Keep running against Bush. Then in Novermber we’ll tell you why you lost AGAIN.

Hey DennyK… you wanna waste your vote on Jeb Bush, by all means be my guest. (he-he) yourself.

Living in the past… running against Bush… we’ll tell you why you lost… yadda yadda yadda. Can you not come up with something halfway original?

More Americans agree with me than agree with you, so (nyah nyah).

Hey Len, don’t be so sure of your self. Just because you believe all the liberal slanted polls (60-40 Democrats) doesn’t mean they are in any way indictative of how the majority of the people think.

I am not at all sure of myself, Scott. I am just hopeful for our country. Please don’t fall for the neocon line that all these polls are “liberal slanted.” There are too many of them, and they all show the same thing. There was another released just today by NBC/WSJ.

Don’t give in to the spin.

Remember a few years ago when all these same polls had Mr. Bush’s approval rating in the 70s? Why wasn’t the radical right complaining about liberal slant back then?
