Wag the Dog
I just now watched Wag the Dog (again) on one of the movie channels. There really is nothing on television tonight.
Then I came in here and started, out of pure boredom, surfing a bit on BlogExplosion. As luck would have it, one of the first websites I hit upon is called Blogger News Network. I clicked on an “editorial” by some fellow called Bob Felton.
What does Mr. Felton have to say? I’ll tell you…
It is not unknown for presidents to settle upon a war as needful to the national interest and then contrive to bring it about - or for the long view of events to prove them right.
Wow, huh?
Of course, he’s talking about Dubya’s war in Iraq, but still, wow… what are the chances?

About all that can be said is that we don’t know the truth about the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, and it will be a long time till we do.
Sadly, it probably will be a long time before we know the truth about the war in Iraq. We likely will not know the truth until George W. Bush’s trial for war crimes, or until we get a Congress with enough balls to demand the truth, whichever comes first.
