So wrong
Alan Aker, a “journal columnist” for the Rapid City Journal has written a column entitled “The cultural ignorance of the left.” You should read it, if only for laughs.
Let me put this as gently as I can… Alan Aker is talking out of his ass. He is obviously a man who has never ventured far from the foothills of South Dakota.
I was born and grew up in sparsely populated red state. I now live in a more densely populated red state. I can personally testify that life in neither state is as depicted by Mr. Aker.
There are liberals and conservatives residing in every state of the union. They talk to each other and share viewpoints and ideas every single day. There does not exist in this country a state that is completely red or completely blue, and even if there were mobility is such that they would not remain so for long.
It’s a shame that some people will buy into the type of hogwash that this Aker fellow is peddling. It is pure ignorance and does nothing more than deepen the divides that do exist in our nation.
To Mr. Aker I can only say: get an education. It’s a valuable thing to have.
