Columbia
He says he heard the boom. He says he thought the house had shifted. He says the house shook and the windows rattled. He woke me up a few minutes later with the news that another space shuttle had exploded. I had slept right through it. (Not surprising. I once slept through an earthquake.) We watched the news on television for a while, then we both left for work. Our lives continued as usual.
The lives of many people have been changed forever. Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the Columbia astronauts.
