Humiliation is good
I have been thinking about what it is that has been keeping me from putting all my energy into the search for new employment, because I know that if I really put my mind to it I would have new employment within the week.
It’s the whole interview process. Interviews are humiliating and degrading, and I just can’t put myself through that right now. I cannot sit across a table from somebody half my age, with half my experience, and answer questions like “Tell me about yourself” and “What did you like most about your last job?” and “What did you like least about your last job?” and “Tell me about a time this or that happened and how you handled the situation.” I can’t do it. (At least without laughing.) So I’ll continue to suffer with the job I currently have, and continue to bitch and moan about it.
And what did we learn from the Super Bowl, boys and girls? We learned that a good defense will beat out a good offense every time. There is a life lesson to be learned here. Be defensive, not offensive. And we thought football was just a big old waste of time!
