Three hour saga
The first day back at the office after three days off is always the worst, and today was certainly no exception. They expect me to be up to speed with everybody else and everything that is going on. What they forget is that I was not there on Monday and Tuesday, and haven’t a clue. What I am beginning to realize is that I don’t really care.
The big management meeting is every Wednesday afternoon at 3:00. Everybody is supposed to have all their reports ready to present. I arrive at the office about noon on Wednesday, after having been off Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Everybody else has had two and a half days already to prepare for the meeting. I have three hours. You would think they would cut me a little slack, wouldn’t you? You would think wrong. I am expected to accomplish in three hours what everybody else has had two and a half days to accomplish.
Something ain’t right.
Okay, I’ll quit whining now. Thanks for listening, and letting me cry on your shoulder for a bit. It really helped. So, um, what do you think of the new colors?

Hey…the new colors are fab….but you should know that they are now overlapping your sidebar on the right….at least that’s the way it looks on my screen….you never know, though, it could just be me.
Overlapping now? It wasn’t doing it before? What browser are you using? What screen resolution?
Anybody else seeing this overlap?
Thanks for letting me know!
It only started overlapping a few days ago…I think on your color change before this one.
I always have my favorites list open on the side of my screen….up until now, that hasn’t affected your display…..but as of the last few days, I have to close the favorites list in order to see your display properly. (does that make sense?) I’m pretty sure it has something to do with one of your color changes. The color that’s overlapping is that medium tone that’s between the lighter text panel and the dark background….the medium tone partly covers the column on the right…..but the left side is fine.
I’m viewing this at 1024×768, Internet Explorer 6.
Good luck….I don’t think I’ve changed anything here…so I think it’s on your end.
Hey… how is it now? I think I left out a “/div”.
Sorry to say…it’s still overlapping. I wish I could help….but I have no advice. Sometimes technology seems to have the upper~hand! Good luck…I’ll check back with you later.
This is a strange one… I’ll check the code again tomorrow. My eyes are too tired to go over it again tonight. But I’m also looking at it with IE6 at 1024×768, and it looks fine here. I also have Netscape 6.something, and it looks okay in that, too.
Oh! Okay (banging head on wall), I see what you mean now! It’s all that real estate used up by your favorites window. The pictures (like boy of the week) are keeping the middle section from sizing down small enough when you have your favorites window open. Try looking at one of the archived months (like September) that don’t have any pictures, and it will be fine.
Ah! The pictures! Of course! I would never have thought of that….but of course the pictures won’t resize! That makes sense. Well….that’s a small price to pay….for those pictures….and we do like those pictures BIG (if you know what I mean!)
Sorry to have troubled you over this! But at least, I think, we both learned something!
No problem! It was fun pouring over my code, letter by letter, trying to find something wrong. (big grin) I did find that one “/div” that was missing, though I don’t see that adding it made any difference, and it did make me feel really smart when I figured out the picture thing, so it was all worth it! (ha ha) Anyway, I’d rather somebody tell me when something isn’t right than just let me go on in ignorance, so thanks!!!
