The seven rules
I have a telephone interview tomorrow morning. Telephone interviews kind of scare me. I always think I do better if I can actually look at the person with whom I am speaking. Wish me luck! Any helpful suggestions welcomed and appreciated!
A vice president on whose staff I once worked gave me a little plaque. On it are engraved the seven rules good managers must live by. They are:
1. Increase Your Self-Discipline
2. Show Consistent Kindness
3. Stretch Goals
4. Welcome Criticism
5. Be a Solution-Finder, Not a Problem-Identifier
6. Show Boundless Enthusiasm
7. Embrace Opportunities
I’ve been having problems with a few of these lately, number six in particular. My enthusiasm has definitely been on the decline. I have about 17 hours to get myself enthused and excited. Somebody help me! I really need this job!!
Oh… the Harry Potter movie? We started it, but didn’t finish it. Neither of us could really get into it. I enjoyed the books, having read all four, but somehow the movie just didn’t ring as true as the books. (Did that make sense to anybody?)
The arm has been particularly bothersome today, and I have consumed several pain pills. I think they are about to knock me on my bottom, as I am having difficulty keeping my eyes open. Perhaps I’ll go nap for a while now. The s/o is working until midnight tonight, so nobody is in the house except me and the cats. Good napping environment.
