Strange questions
I just completed an online job application. It was one of the strangest applications I have ever completed. Here, for example, are two of the questions they asked:
How often have you gotten into shoving matches or fistfights at work over the last 3 years?
and
Other than paper, pens and other supplies, what is the total worth of all of the items and money you have taken from employers in the last 3 years?
Yes, I must admit that I truly enjoy a good brawl at work. Yep, back when I used to have a job, I would wake up each morning wondering “who can I beat the shit out of today?”
And now you tell me that I can steal things other than “paper, pens and other supplies!” A fat lot of good that does me now. If you would be so kind as to hire me, I promise I shall do my very best to rob you blind.
The application, by the by, is for a very well known national corporation. You have seen their commercials on television numerous times. They were a very big sponsor of the 2002 Winter Olympics. My question is: Do I really want to work for these people?

that sounds a lot like the test i took at pizza hut. and at home depot. and anywhere else that doesn’t actually like to interview you. if you’ve ever got an hour and a half to kill (seriously, an hour and a half), go fill out an application at target. it starts a little slow, but after about half an hour the questions are so ridiculously stupid that you sit in your little booth thing laughing your ass off.
I once filled out an application for Staples and ended up undergoing a psychological test that apparantly everyone gets. There was basically one question, but it was reworded many times:
“Have you ever gotten high before coming to work?”
“Within an hour of the time you were supposed to report for work, did you get high?”
“Have you been high in the time preceeding the time you were supposed to be present for work?”
“Have you ever taken drugs before you went to work?”
If that was for the Home Depot, dont work there!
