Palin’s paparazzi

I found this article by Brian Montopoli of CBS News absolutely hilarious…

Sarah Palin’s bus tour treats reporters like paparazzi

Sarah Palin and her advisers are refusing to tell members of the media where she is going on her current bus tour – and the former Alaska governor seems to be enjoying the cat and mouse game that’s resulted.

“I don’t think I owe anything to the mainstream media … I want them to have to do a little bit of work on a tour like this, and that would include not necessarily telling them beforehand where every stop’s going to be,” she told fellow Fox News employee Greta Van Susteren in an interview from the bus…

Since Palin and her team won’t share where the potential candidate is headed, reporters and producers have little choice but to simply stay close to Palin’s bus. This has resulted in scenes of the Palin bus tooling down the highway followed by a caravan of 10 or 15 vehicles all trying to make sure they don’t lose sight of the Palin bus.

It adds up to a dangerous situation, says CBS News Producer Ryan Corsaro.

“I just hope to God that one of these young producers with a camera whose bosses are making them follow Sarah Palin as a potential Republican candidate don’t get in a car crash, because this is dangerous,” he said.

Corsaro asked a member of Palin’s team if he thought it was dangerous to have reporters forced to chase her from stop to stop. “You’re the ones that are trailing us,” he replied.

The solution to your problem, Mr. Montopoli, is painfully obvious and ridiculously simple. Stop following her around. You all are chasing after her as if she were a bitch in heat and you are a bunch of horny mutts. Think about it. You are pursuing a woman with no credentials or credibility whatsoever who will never, ever be anything more than she is right now. She served a term as mayor of tiny Wasilla, Alaska and could not even finish a term as governor of tiny Alaska – a state whose entire population is less than the town in which I live. She knows nothing about national, let alone international, affairs. What she says means nothing to anybody except apparently you and the ignorant extreme right wing lemmings who worship her. Just stop following her. Stop giving her the attention she craves. Just stop.

We don’t care. She isn’t news. What she says or does is not news. We do not need to know what she had for breakfast this morning or how many times she peed today. Stop wasting your time and ours. Move on to something or somebody that actually matters.

  1. I totally agree! We should be concentrating on important things, like getting the economy back on track and getting the rules changed at the TSA to make them quit violating the Constitutional rights of paying airline customers. I’m sure the latter will help a hell of a lot with the former, I know many people (myself and members of my family included) who aren’t flying any more because they don’t want to be put through a virtual strip search or frisked like a criminal to use a SERVICE they are PAYING for.

I keep wondering how long it’s going to take for the entire airline industry to go bankrupt.

  2. What this story and Trump’s fake presidential bid prove is that the collective news outlets have become a voracious, insatiable maw and there simply aren’t enough serious news stories to feed it. So in effect, they have become hostages to any idiot who has managed to gain national attention for almost any reason at all.

  3. I agree, but….you are also cashing in on her by blogging about her. You even put up a picture of her. If you want them to stop seeking the coverage, you should follow suit and stop blogging about non news items.

Personally I can’t the women, and think anyone with a brain should be insulted when she opens her mouth; when they start talking about her on tv, I turn the channel. I refuse to give her air time. Just like I refused to blog for months on end about that idiot mj, if we really stop watching, and stop blogging, they will stop covering and she will fade away like the guy who couldn’t spell.

  4. We live in a capitalist society, and well, the bitch sells. If I were getting paid enough money to act like I cared about her, I’d do it.
