Elena Kagan was sworn in today as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States…

Congratulations, Justice Kagan.

On a personal note, one thing kind of stood out in that oath she swore. It hit me when Chief Justice Roberts said “and do equal right to the poor and to the rich.” The poor and the rich. What happened to the middle class? Oh, that’s right… we don’t have one any longer. You are either poor or you are rich. There is no in between. Them’s the breaks, I reckon.

“Medicare Officially Safer After Health Reform”

From the White House weblog:

The President discusses a new Medicare Trustees report showing Medicare to be on much stronger footing as a result of the reforms in the Affordable Care Act. In addition, seniors are also already getting help with prescription drug costs when they fall into the infamous “donut hole.”
